Time and again it bothered me the thumbnails of Revit files, especially of families, in Windows Explorer were not displayed correctly. This usually occurs then increased when multiple versions of Revit committed to a workplace.
The whole thing looks mostly like this:

Here is nice to see that some did not, and some are presented with the wrong view. On
Revit Clinic I have found a solution for me. There are two methods described here, and I have decided only to the following.
is to generate new order the thumbnails to proceed as follows:

  1. Revit file
  2. Go open the application menu ( R) -> Save As
  3. In the Save As dialog, click Options click the bottom right
  4. In the preview box "generate new, if not view / plan is currently on" option. In the source view, corresponding to (should generally be 3-D view) setting. save

With OK the file.
Unfortunately, this is no batch mode. Since one can only hope not too many of the thumbnails are affected. has
